A Visit to Varanasi

During the last monsoon had a tour of the City of Lord Shiva, Varanasi. The Ganges was full to the brim, as such could not have a dip in the Ganges, feeling unfortunate for that. Participated in the Mangal Aarti which is held at 0400 AM, it was a pleasant experience.Felt blessed by Kashi Vishwanath. We also visited Sankat Mochan Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Durga Temple, BHU where there is the Birla Temple, Kal Vairab-the Kotwal of Kashi, Swami Narayan Temple etc
The GHATS for which Benares is famous were all submerged in muddy water. The Ganga Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat was viewed from a boat parked in the river. The young pujaris were performing in a style satement of their own. Other Ghats visited are Kedar Ghat, Harischandra Ghat, Gow Ghat, Shitala Ghat etc. Spent some hours at the Kedar Ghat where we saw a dead body floating on the river, some time later a body of a baby was also seen. Baby's face was down, that is facing the bottom of river, one near by person said it is a boy's body. If a girl is thown than the face is kept towards the sky! Oh!!!
May post some photos later.
